BREAKING: British Attack Colonists in Lexington

Minutemen Drive British Away

British forces were seen marching from Boston to Concord on April 18. Colonist minutemen responded by setting up defenses in nearby Lexington on April 19 to intercept the British movement. In response to their route now becoming inaccessible, British forces opened fire on the colonists.

Colonists returned fire, defending themselves from red coats. In surprising twist of fate, the trained men of the British forces were outmatched by the local civilians a
nd beat out a hasty retreat. Cheers could be heard across the fields of Lexington as the minutemen chased the British soldiers out of the town.

"Those shots were heard around the world," one colonist declared, "British forces must understand that we are not fighting for simple issues, but for our lives and livelihoods."

Reports from minutemen in the area stated that fellow colonist Paul Revere was the first to sound the alarm to the militia that the British forces were in route. One minuteman, who asked to remain anonymous, stated that if it was not for Revere's warning, British forces would have overtaken both Lexington and Concord with little resistance.

While men and women in Lexington cheer, other colonists in Massachusetts fear that this conflict may cause for drastic consequences from King George the Third.

"After the massacre in Boston, I don't think I can stay hear any longer," local lawyer John Johnson stated, "These colonists make like they want to start a revolution. I thought that dumping the tea into the harbor was enough of a statement to get the King's attention, but I'm afraid we have taken things too far. I'm heading south to ensure my family's safety."

Only time will tell if today's events were an insurrection, a defense from tyrannical forces, or the start of a revolution.
